Sun and weather turn black plastic trim gray and tires brown. A trim restorer brings back deep black color, and a good dressing or sealer helps keep it from fading again. This collection covers exterior plastic, rubber, and tires. For dashboards and door panels, see plastics and vinyl.
How to choose the right trim restorer
- Black trim restorer: Solution Finish Trim Restorer restores faded trim to a deep black without an artificial wet look. It's silicone-free and VOC compliant.
- Plastic sealer: Solution Finish Over the Top Plastic Sealer locks in restored trim with UV resistance and a clear finish. Get both in the Black Trim Restorer + Over the Top Plastic Sealer Full Installation Kit.
- Plastic and rubber care: Koch-Chemie Plast Star restores a semi-matte finish, protects for months, and helps keep door seals from freezing. Koch-Chemie Hydro Plast Care lets you adjust the gloss by diluting it with water.
- Tire dressing: Gtechniq T1v2 Durable Tyre Gel goes on satin or builds up to gloss. Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel gives a high gloss without a greasy finish. P&S Shine All is a water-based tire dressing that also works on rubber and vinyl.
- Rubber floor mats: Koch-Chemie Gummifix refreshes rubber mats and plastic floors while keeping them slip-resistant.
Restore and protect your trim
Clean trim and tires well first so the product can bond. Apply with a foam applicator and wipe off any excess. Our guides to Solution Finish Trim Restorer and restoring faded trim with a trim coating walk you through it. For the longest-lasting option, see trim coatings in coatings.
